How we rank AI agents
Each list ranks agents for one job. An agent can rank well for one job and not appear on another list at all. Within a list, we weigh:
- Does it do the job? What the agent completes without a human, judged from the product, its docs and public demos.
- Autonomy. How much of the job it handles unattended (see below).
- Fit for small teams. Self-serve signup, setup time, and whether it works without an engineer.
- Pricing clarity. Public pricing ranks above "contact sales" when everything else is equal.
- Tradeoffs. Every reviewed agent lists real cons, not just features.
Autonomy levels
- Assistant: Helps you do the work; you stay in the loop on every step.
- Task agent: Completes tasks you hand it, then reports back.
- Autonomous: Runs a whole job end to end without supervision.
Pricing and fact checks
Prices come from each vendor's own pricing page and show the lowest paid plan. When we can't confirm a price, we say so instead of guessing. Profiles show the date their facts were last checked.
Reviewed vs. basic listings
Reviewed agents have pricing, autonomy, pros and cons. Basic listings came from community submissions and the original directory; they appear below the ranked picks and are never ranked above reviewed agents.
